June is Pride Month, a time when the LGBTQ community around the world comes together and celebrates the freedom to be themselves. Pride is more than just a celebration, however, as this holiday is rooted in the arduous history of minority groups who have struggled to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are. Today, LGBTQ individuals are still marginalized in society and experience higher rates of sexual violence victimization than the general population.
Pride Events are happening across the state of New Hampshire this summer. We have listed these events below and added them to the CSAPPnh Calendar, in hopes that you will share with your students and show support for the LGBTQ individuals in your community!
